Former Special Prosecutor Jack Smith testified under oath today that President Trump engaged in crimes against America. AP reported that Smith told Senators that his investigation had proof “beyond a reasonable doubt” of Trump’s crimes. In the video above, Smith said he stands by his decision to prosecute Trump.

“Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in serious crimes against our nation … rather than accept his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results and prevent the lawful transfer of power.”
Senator Peter Welch Calls Out GOP Senators
Beyond Jack Smith’s testimony, one highlight of today’s hearing was Peter Welch’s questions to the former Special Prosecutor.
Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) Welch rejected GOP claims of political targeting. He said the basic facts about the January 6th events and how classified documents were handled cannot be disputed, calling the Republican questions a political move to defend themselves.
