Psychologically And Socially, AMAZON Is Not All Positive. In Fact, The Cons Outweigh.

DON’T REPLACE ALL YOUR SHOPPING WITH THE BILLIONAIRE JEFF BESOS STORE.

The first thing people say about AMAZON is, ” It’s great. You can get what you want without leaving the house.”  When did isolation and instant gratification become so preferred over getting out of bed to shop for a pair of jeans at the store? There are pros and serious cons to the phenomenon of AMAZON shopping ( read more @ thetherapyroom.com)

PROS

● It provides instant gratification

● Disabled who cannot drive can buy what they need without being dependent on others

● Encourages quick decision-making

● Provides an education on choices for what you are looking to buy

● Saves time by eliminating the need to drive to make purchases

QUESTIONS: HOW NECESSARY ARE THESE POSITIVES IN ACHIEVING A SUCCESSFUL, HAPPY LIFE?

CONS

● One man becoming a billionaire, causing thousands of large and small companies to go bankrupt

● Promotes laziness

● Promotes over- spending

● Promotes compulsivity

● Promotes isolation

● Manipulates your thinking about what you ” need” to have

● Wastes time on making returns

● Reduces the social experience of meeting your friends or family to shop

● Eliminates the experience of seeing and touching items in person to help with decision-making

● Because of bankrupting large retail chains and small neighborhood businesses,  the option for in-person shopping have been greatly reduced.

Why did this societal obsession with saving time,  immediate gratification, and constant obsession with shopping happen? Did Jeff Besos brainwash the masses and tap into our tendencies towards addiction, excess, and escapism? AMAZON’s service is valuable and preferable under certain physical, emotional, and logistical situations. However, some results from the service are socially, psychologically and financially detrimental to individuals and businesses. Additionally, the success of AMAZON has created another billionaire who cares only about enriching himself without regard for the average American or the country.
