Reince Priebus was complaining on Fox about Democratic Socialists and said that they were the wrong kind of radicals:
Sorry, he doesn’t get the credit he deserves, but you know, the most offensive thing that’s going on now with these guys and and and Nixon in Florida and El Sayed, you know, they’re they’re they’re trying to equate themselves to Jesus. They’re calling themselves radicals, you know, Jesus was a radical. I’m a radical, you know; using the same word doesn’t make them equivalent.
I mean, Jesus was radical because he said, you know, in a theological explosion that, you know, I’m the only, only through me will you enter the kingdom of heaven. That was radical, but Jesus wasn’t advocating the abolition of the Electoral College, the Supreme Court, the presidency, the elimination of the Department of War, you know, all these things that they’re talking about.
These people are radical for a different reason. They’re radical because they’re advocating for things that are contrary to the United States Constitution. Yes, they’re radical.
That’s the problem. They’re always wrong and they’re never in doubt, and this is what this group is all about and that’s what makes it easier for us to win these races because they’re caught between their base and normal and and they can’t get on the right side of normal and as long as they keep playing around in that zone that they’re in, we have a good shot in a midterm that is usually pretty tough for the incumbent party.
I’ve never heard any of these people compare themselves to Jesus. I have seen Priebus’s former boss compare himself to God, though. But considering that Priebus still likes the taste of Trump’s boots, it’s not surprising he doesn’t mention that part of it.
On the bright side, if he is so desperate that he’s creating laughable strawmen like that, November is going to be an absolute rout.
