Senator-Elect Abdul El-Sayed is still a hot item on the news show circuit, much to J Divan Vance’s chagrin, because every interview AES does means another ass-whooping for Vance. The latest example of that is from an interview he did with CNN. After they showed a clip from El-Sayed’s acceptance speech, the host asked El-Sayed whether or not he’s going to be willing to work with Trump and Vance.
El-Sayed said that he is willing to work with anyone if it means helping the people of Michigan by putting more money in their pockets or expanding Medicare for all.
Then, without missing a beat, El-Sayed let loose:
EL-SAYED: Yeah. Well, in his role as vice president, if he’s interested in advancing things that are gonna get money out of politics, put money in pockets, pass Medicare for all, I’m looking forward to working together. He is the vice president. Donald Trump is the president. I’ll work with anybody to serve the people of the State of Michigan. If they’re serious about doing that, let’s get some stuff done.
In their political roles, in the ways that they behave outside of their actual roles as president and vice president, I find them odious. They’ve taken this, us down the path. You see JD Vance now, he’s sprinting as hard backwards as he can from this terrible, disastrous war in Iran. I’m like, “Now’s not the time, my guy. It would’ve been eight months ago. You should’ve s- spoke up, but you never will because, of course, you have- you are a coward who has decided that whatever Donald Trump says should go until, of course, Donald Trump is now a loser at the ballot box, and now you’re trying to find a different way.”
I- I’m looking for people who stand on principle, and it’s important for the American public that they see who their elected officials are because, look, we, it’s no… I- I don’t have to… This is not breaking news. JD Vance is gonna try and run for president, and I want folks to understand exactly who JD Vance is as a person as he tries to do that. And I’m gonna take every opportunity to be able to differentiate between what JD Vance says and what JD Vance does because I think it’s important for the American public to know who their leaders are.
HOST: So if, uh, using a word that I often hate to use because it’s used, you know, in, in Washington, but, like, dialing down the rhetoric as senator, it sounds like it’s not going, can’t… El- Abdullah Sayed on the campaign trail does not sound like it’s, Senator Elect Abdullah Sayed is gonna be any different in terms of the rhetoric.
EL-SAYED: So here’s the difference between us. You know, he goes on the campaign trail, makes all kinds of accusations about me because of my faith and my name. He calls me evil.
I just pointed out the fact that, constitutionally, he’s obligated to swear me in. And he did go to Ohio State University, which, of course, is a lesser university than the University of Michigan.
The next two years are going to be very long ones – for Trump, Vance, and the rest of the crime syndicate. My advice is to stock up on extra popcorn. Lots of it. This is going to be fun!
Here’s @AbdulElSayed ripping into @JDVance this morning on CNN.
