This speech was disturbing. Watching the man who is president lie, espouse delusions about winning an election that he lost, share plans to interfere in the upcoming midterm election voting process, and threaten Congress to vote for his voter suppression SAVE ACT was disturbing
What is additionally disturbing is knowing that no matter how crazy, criminal, or dishonest Trump would act during his speech, the Republicans would either stay silent or defend his lunacy.
We know that Trump knows he lost the 2020 election. He was told by his Attorney General Bill Barr that he lost. His advisors told him he lost. He was overheard by staff members saying, ” can you believe I lost to that guy.” However, because the criminally cunning Trump knew that his gullible base would fall for the “big lie”, he pretended that the election was stolen by rampant fraud. He has claimed he would produce eidence of the fraud that caused him to lose in 2020 but has never produced that evidence In his pathetic speech last night, he conflated the lie about fraud in the 2020 election with the incidence of Chinese interference to justify his claim that he got more votes than Joe Biden. He sounded and looked desperate, lost, and delusional. There is no proof that any anti- Trump rhetoric by China changed any votes that were legally cast.
The lies he told were the same lies he has been spreading since he got his ass kicked by Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Claims of hundreds of thousands of illegals voting, improper counting of ballots, and rigged voting machines are among the claims that have been rejected by over 60 judges in the bogus court cases Trump has filed. Despite his false claims being debunked by his own intelligence community while he was still in office during the 2020 election, the Liar-in-Chief continues to pretend he won. He embarrassed himself again last night as a sore- losing, insecure, criminal cheat and allies around the world once again saw America as a weakened, troubled country from within.
His desperate pleas to force the Senate to pass the Save Act came across as what it is: a blatant attempt to do the very thing he accused China and democratic states of doing in 2020 which is rig a US election. He revealed his plan to rig the midterms, which he falsely calls “increasing election integrity”.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS TRUMP IS A SHAMED- BASED, SORE-LOSING, FRAUDULENT MAN WHO IS INCAPABLE OF ADMITTING DEFEAT. HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE LAW. IF DEMOCRATIC VOTERS TURN OUT IN BIG NUMBERS, HE WILL BE POLITICALLY NEUTERED, AND OUR DEMOCRACY WILL BE RESTORED.
He must be watched closely as he signaled last night that he will ilegally attempt to insert federal control over the state midterm elections. That is not a presidential power protected by the anti- Constitutional immunity ruling.
